A little friend

I just felt like scrapping the other day (lol)... so I did this ...
Have had that pic of Bethany and her gorgeous little friend Nikara for a while and never quite knew what to do with it until I got the scalloped paper and also the felt shapes. Love them! Seems a bit of a mix of colours, but I think they work quite well. It has a kind of 'fresh, springy' feel. :-) {thanks to Nikara's lovely Mummy for letting me post the pic :-) }

The cybercrop over at Scraps Of Us is on this weekend so have been doing some projects for that. My challenge goes up this afternoon and I can't wait to see what everyone does with it! Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Guess What?!?!

I made the team!! Yes, I am now a Design Team member (on the card team) for Scraps Of Us which is hugely exciting for me :-). Am looking forward to learning how to be a DT member (lol) and having fun along the way. Thanks heaps for everyone's encouragement!!

Now, they have thrown us all in the deep end (but in a good way!) straight away as we have to come up with challenges and games for this:
It should be heaps of fun ... my first Cybercrop as a member of a Design Team! It's rather different designing challenges and not doing someone elses! But, I am looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Well, I had better keep going, I'm hoping to get lots of washing done today :-)!!

Round 3

OK, here is my entries for the third and final round of the DT comp. This was a VERY interesting challenge ... we had to make a LO for $5 and a card for $3! It was tricky trying to work out how much each thing cost! Here is my LO: A gorgeous pic of Dallas - one of my favourites from Linley's photoshoot. The title is "Almost 2 weeks old" (just in case you can't read it - lol!)
Here's the card. For some funny reason, I liked matching the cards to the LO's!!
And that's it, now we just wait for the announcement to be made! It was certainly an interesting comp and I scrapped a pic of myself for the first time!
I have managed a page today. Will share maybe tomorrow :-)

Round 2

Here is my entries for round two of the DT comp. The criteria was to scrap a LO of an achievement in our life and use a particular technique. The card had to congratulate someone on an achievement and use a technique also. We then had to write a step-by-step instuctions for the technique we chose to do. I debated a while about the technique and tossed up on a few! Finally decided to make a strip flower. I made these out of book paper to suit the theme of my page .... which was a pic of me "Finally" graduating from uni!! How young do I look!!! lol...
And here's the card ... I made a strip flower for this as well.
Will share Round 3 here tomorrow - got to draw out the process ...lol!!!
Went and got Dallas weighed today - he's 6.2kg! The nurse was like, "Wow, how old is this baby?? Did you say 10weeks??" lol! I am not surprised, I'm the one who carries him around all day (OK, slight exaggeration there ...lol) and know how sore my arms/shoulders/neck get!!!

Well, I'm off to see if I can squeeze in some scrapping before the kids wake up from their sleeps. Thanks to everyone who pops by and especially for the lovely comments. Hope everyone is having a lovely day :-)

Quick post

Just a quick post from me today. ----->

Just wanted to share this LO I did for a Design team comp! It was for the first round and we had to scrap a LO of ourselves .... but use no photos!! What a challenge!! So, the journalling I did here in the little boxes is about me. You probably can't read it tho...LOL!!!
Be back with some more maybe tomorrow :-)

I've been scrappin'!!

What a surprise! lol. I've done 3 LO's and a couple of cards over the weekend. Here are some to share. First up was a card that I did a while ago, but don't think I've posted yet. It was for a comp at Scraps of Us:

Then, a layout from this weekend's cybercrop over at Savvy. The theme was PINK due to October being Breast Cancer awareness month. My fave colour!!! lol So, here is my LO for Kayla's challenge. The criteria was: pink with one other colour, sparkle, and a "She" quote. I've used "She just has this way of brightening the day".
This LO of Dallas is for the scraplift challenge over at Savvy. This is another of Linley's gorgeous photos - I never tire of scrapping them :-). Can see us having to have regular photo shoots!!! lol

Well, it's rather overcast here ATM ... wonder if we'll get any rain...
Hope everyone has a wonderful week. :-)

Kid's card

I am not getting a whole lot of scrapping done lately, for one reason or another. There just always seems to be other things to do at the moment! Also, am still working on Dallas' thank yous for the people who have been lovely enough to send good wishes and gifts to welcome him.

Anyway, here is a card I made for yesterday's comp at SOU. It was to make a colourful kid's party invite:
Pretty simple, but there you go. Not sure if I would want to cut out all those balloons for 10 or so invites for a real party tho!!! lol...

Well, just a short post for me today, the day is running away from me and whilst it is rather nice to sit for a while here in the air-con, I better go and get the clothes off the line! I'm sure they will be more than dry considering how long they have been out there ...lol!!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and happy scrapping to the scrappers :-)

Another one...

Here's another tissue box I have decorated. They are quite fun to do! Loving polka dots at the moment :-). Just trying to decide if it looks "finished" ... if you know what I mean?? I am a bit tempted to add ....something .... not sure what! LOL!

Weather sure is getting quite warm now - thank goodness we have air-conditioning or how would I survive??

Well, best keep going, I have a sketch challenge I want to try and today's challenge at SOU is to make a children's birthday invite - the more colourful the better! How fun is that!!! So, might give that a go too :-)

Goodies

Check out these goodies I received in the mail recently... can't wait to have a play with them!! LOL!! These are from Scrapbook Savvy
These are from Scrap A While ------>

Cool papers or what?!?!! Just need a spot of inspiration now :-)

The beach...

It's been a while since we went to the beach, just been a bit slow in scrapping the pics! We actually wondered how Bethany would like the whole surf thing, but she LOVED it to bits!! (After an initial wariness of course!) She just wanted to sit down in the waves ... luckily Daddy was there to catch her before she got drenched ... lol! She loved playing in the sand too, and these pics were of her building sand castles ---->

You can't tell by the pic, but I sparkle Mod-Podged the Thickers and it looks great!

Well, some exciting news from me, I am getting another layout published! It will be in Scrapbooking Memories Vol11 No11 .... make sure you look out for it ... lol :-). I think it will be the Christmas edition.

Hope everyone is having a great week, happy scrapping. Thanks again for all the lovely comments :-)

Fab Friday!!!

Yay, it's Friday again, but my, don't the weeks fly by! My little boy is 8 weeks old this week. Went and got him weighed yesterday and he is 5.74kg! Growing right before our very eyes!

I have some cards to post here today.... not overly exciting sorry!!! The first is for a first birthday (can you tell?? It has a big "1" on it ...LOL!) Sparkle mod-podged the felt "1" and really love the look.

This one was for a scraplift challenge over at SOU. The lift was a layout, but I made it into a card. A lot quicker to complete ...LOL!
Lastly, here is my fav black card again :-) ... this was for another challenge: "doodling". Again I made a card cos it's quicker. The flower is cut out of cool spotty felt and no, that's not stitching ...LOL!!!! It's just drawn on with black pen :-). Then, drew a border and flourish with a white gel pen. A great effect.

Well, that's about it from me today. I am in the middle of another card ... it's taking me all day! In between everything else! If I'm lucky, I might get it finished this arv. *sigh*
Hope everyone has a great weekend and a big thank you to all those who leave comments... you are so nice :-)

It's Tuesday :-)

Sorry, couldn't think of a better title today ... :-). Nothing quite like stating the obvious!

It's really windy here. Had a storm and some rain last night so maybe it is blowing another storm our way. Who knows. It's looking rather bleak.

Well, this might come as a surprise, but I've been scrapping again .... LOL!!!!! This one is another sketch challenge on Scraps Of Us. Never done so many layouts from sketches in my life!!! I find them a bit restricting sometimes and chose not to do them. Sometimes, I can start with a sketch and the end result looks NOTHING like it!!! LOL! Anyway, without further ado .... here is "You love him" ...

I have used a pic of Linley's that I have scrapped before (thought you recognised it didn't you ... he he he!!!). But, with two kidlets now, I get to scrap photos twice!! How fun!! So, this one is for Bethany's album. I surprised myself that it actually didn't turn out all that girly. There isn't even a single flower on it! *shock*!! (Oh, apart from on the patterned paper). The Heidi Swapp sticker I have used this time says: "Watch: don't miss a thing". I sure don't want to miss any of these cute little moments! I know they will grow up so quick. Dallas is already getting chubby!!! LOL! Oh, but he's so cute :-)

A variety...

A variety of projects to share today... First up is Miss Bethany's creation!! This is the birthday card she made for her Daddy. I helped her punch out the shapes and place the letter stickers (!!) but the rest is all hers. :-) ... what talent!!! She just loves creating things now and would love to have free reign of my scrapping stuff. LOL!

Then, this is my card from a colour challenge at Scraps Of Us. The colours (obviously) were green, orange, pink and blue. So bright and colourful with the "spring" feeling.
Then, here is another project I did up the other day. (It is a tissue box, can you tell??) Have a few more to do for pressies.... they are surprisingly easy and fun to make. Love the green and purple combo in this one.

Can hear my little boy waking up so must keep going. Happy scrapping to all the scrappers out there who pop by :-) ... hope everyone has a lovely week.

The 'word' of the moment...

The 'word' of the moment seems to be Christmas!! Some people even know how many weeks etc till the big day, but I'd have to sit and work it out ... LOL! Here's some Christmas cards anyway. The first I did for a "Christmas in July" challange at Savvy (obviously it was back in July LOL!)

This one I did just because!
Am really really liking things on a black background at the moment! Think it really makes the colours "pop"... if you know what I mean :-). I like music paper too, if you didn't guess!

Another day, another layout...

I have another layout to share today - using more of Linley's gorgeous photos! (Just can't get enough of them!) This one was for a sketch challenge at Scraps of Us again - quite simple, but nice as the pics are the focus (I think anyway!)

I am loving those Heidi Swapp stickers. This one says "Freeze: I want to hold this moment in my heart forever". It was such a precious little moment with my little baby boy :-). He is growing so fast and I just want to remember all the little things that mean so much. He is smiling a lot more now and it melts his mummy's heart :-). Just love these pics of him and me. Don't seem to get a lot of photos of myself these days - I am usually the one behind the camera!

Anyway, must keep going and get some things done while the kidlets are asleep :-)

Black and pink...pink and black :-)

Have been doing a few more challenges over at Scraps of Us - card ones actually. Some I can't reveal yet as I am hoping to use them for some October birthdays (you know who you are :-)!!!) - but I will share this one:

The challenge was to make a card using left over scraps of paper, hearts somewhere on it (embellie or on pp's, whatever), and left over alphas.

As I have a huge box of leftovers, (actually make that TWO boxes!!!) this was an easy one!! I even had a selection that matched! LOL! I am loving the paler colours on a black background at the moment. (Note to self: buy more black cards!!) And, of course, I can never get enough pink! Or bling! Or buttons! OK, I'll stop now ... LOL!!!

I am finding these challenges at Scraps of Us lots of fun, although, with only a day to complete each one, I just know some days they won't get done!! But, that's OK :-). Today's challenge is a sketch which I really like, but not sure if I will complete it in time.

On that note, better keep going :-)!!! Hope everyone is having a lovely day! Am thinking of my Mum today who is back at work after a lovely holiday (some of which she spent with us - looking after us all) - hope you're having a good day Mum!! {hugs}

Monday Funday

Every day is a fun day in this house LOL! Had a busy weekend and a busy day today so am hoping the kids have a settled night tonight so we can all catch up on some sleep.

I have a layout to share today - another one for Dallas' album. Really really enjoying these boy pages!!! This one is for the Savvy random challenge this month. Criteria is: 3 or more pp's, a rub-on, photo bigger than 6x4.

I have journalled that I hope these 2 will always be the best of friends. That was another photo by Linley - it's gorgeous isn't it!!

It's October!

Wow, October already, where does the time go? It will be Christmas before we know it!

I found an awesome little site yesterday called Scraps of Us - it's their anniversary month this month so there is lots of challenges etc! One every day in fact! Yesterday was a sketch challenge, and I managed to get it done in the required time:

The title is "In the eyes of a child" and the journalling reads "In the eyes of a child there are no seven wonders of the world. There are seven million". Tis a cute quote. It's not a very good pic of the layout though sorry.

Have been making a few cards lately and Bethany has wanted to 'help'. So she has made some lovely creations too :-). Just loves "blue" (glue) and likes to do lots of "writing". LOL! We'll make a scrapper out of her yet!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :-)

PS. Thank you to everyone who has left lovely comments here!!
