Hello everyone :)
Have you joined the Pocket swap craze??
Not sure what on earth I'm talking about?? Find out more info here in Rikki's blog post over at Scrappingclearly...
Today, I'm going to share my Pocket swap for August and some tips and ideas to help make yours!
Our first theme for our Pocket swap is HEIDI SWAPP.
I loved digging in my stash to find all my HS bits and pieces to create this for my pal:
So much fun to create as well as to receive!!
I set out the 9 background pieces first to get an idea of the layout. I moved them around until I was happy. Then came the fun part! Embellishing!
TIP: Some of my embellishments are glued/stuck on, but most you'll see are just paper clipped in place so that they can be removed by my pal and used on their own creations!
TIP: If you include tiny loose bits like sequins, you can always seal the top of the pocket shut with some washi tape to stop them falling out on their postal journey.
Here's some IDEAS of what to include in your goodies:
-Stickers-Sticky notes
-Tea bag
-Paper Ephemera and die cuts
-Photographs
-Sequins
-Ribbon/Washi
-Paper clips
-Tags
-Quotes
the list really is endless!
Remember, it's not just a chance to get rid of unwanted items, but rather a chance to put a smile on someone else's face! If you would love to receive it, chances are, your pal will too :)
Don't forget your letter to your PAL! If you wish, you could fold it up and tuck it in a little envelope or bag - it looks so cute!
Some more HINTS and TIPS:
* try not to add too much bulk or it will be more expensive to send.
* Decorate the outside of the plastic sleeve itself if you like - stick on some stickers, or decorate with a strip of washi tape ... get creative!
Here's a mud map of a pocket swap as a GUIDE for you (you do not have to follow this exactly, it's just an idea!!)
When you are finished and ready to send, fold it up and decorate if you wish!
And it's all ready to embark on it's journey to your Pocket swap pal :)

July SUYS
Have you seen the cool challenge over at Show Us Your Stuff this month?
Luckily, the challenge doesn't specify your OWN handwriting, so I used my little Mr 5's handwriting ... {from the beginning of the year}
There is a lovely drawing on the back of the green "postcard" ... so I've just paper-clipped it onto my page to remove it easily to see the back.
Handmade items: Charms Creations star; Burdy's Embellies foam arrows
Such an easy and fun challenge, why not have a go?! An awesome prize from Scrappingclearly up for grabs!

OXOX
Have you seen the gorgeous July mood board over at Scrappingclearly?
The colours are so soft and pretty ... and I was really drawn to the big XO ...
and created this:
I have always wanted to create a background like that ... so this was the perfect time :)
It's simple, and not my usual clustering, but it's nice to do something different now and again! Of course, I've added my fav addition ... sequins!
{love that quote!}
Products used:
Teresa Collins Nine & Co 6x6 Designer Paper Pad
Teresa Collins Nine & Co Ephemera Tags
Teresa Collins Nine & Co Chipboard Elements
Studio Calico Lemon Lush Chipboard Heart Stickers
Pink Paislee Bella Rouge Paper - So Lovely
