Reflections

The December challenge over at SUYS is all about reflections:

I want you to do a layout reflecting on 2010. Did you achieve any goals?, What were the highs or lows?, Did one moment stand out?, or did you have any lifechanging moments?

*Dont forget you need to include a handmade item made by yourself or someone else

This year, I wanted to make the most of the little moments, take more photos of the everyday things and treasure this precious time we have.  On this LO, I used a little pic of my kids, during a spontanious hug ... and the quote ... always remember, it's the little things that make life big.

Banner made by this lovely lady ...
And denim lollipop flower made by me :-)
Today truly is a gift - treasure it....

HBS sketch

Have you been over to Handmade by Suzanne to check out this month's sketch yet??  It's a fun one and it looks like this:
This is what I came up with .... although .... I think it's one of those pages that looked better in my head?!?!  LOL  I do need to add some journaling though ...
I used Kaisercraft Seaside pp's and journal tags from my DT pack this month.  See the gorgeous star embellie and the bingo card?  They are both from swaps :-).
Don't forget the winner of this sketch challenge is drawn randomly .. so you could win an awesome voucher just by having a go!!!  Upload your layout to the gallery :-)

Krafty Christmas

Since I STILL have photos from last Christmas to scrap, I thought I'd play along with the latest Kraft It Up challenge - to scrap a CHRISTMAS PHOTO using NON TRADITIONAL COLOURS and you also need to incorporate KNOTS on your layout, whether it is with ribbon, fabric, twine, lace etc...

So, I have used yellow, blue, brown and other bits and pieces thrown in.  Not Christmas colours!!  And, my knots are in the yellow spotty fabric :-)

Super cool reindeer ... pressie from Leanne (thank you!!!) ... I misted, and covered in GLITTER!!

Have a great week!!  :-)

Top 10

I thought I would look back at my pages and pick ten of my favourites from 2010.  They may not be the 'best' pages, they are certainly not perfect, but for one reason or other, they are my favourites :-).  So, in no particular order ...

A bit chilly:
LOVE the colours on this one.  I just LOVE brights :-)  I don't often do clouds ... and really liked them on this page.  I decided to make that kite out of the blue one day - and I am not one for handmaking embellies!!

Daddy's arms:
I have mixed feelings about this page ... but I really like how the masking turned out.  And gotta love kraft!!  :-)

Park daze:
This one is really different for me.  I don't 'do' scene type pages, and I hadn't intended to this to be one, it just turned out that way!!  Not sure if I just like it just because it's different to my 'normal' work or what.  Love that cloud paper tho :-)

Little Star:
That pic is one of my favourites ... little chubby cheeks :-)  I love that quote too ... "Twinkle twinkle little star, do you know how loved you are?' and I'm so glad the masking on this one turned out like it did!!

Just peekin':
I love that the colours matched the pics so well!!  This was one of Sara's gorgeous sketches, I think it would be my favourite sketch of hers!  I love that the elephant matched perfectly too :-)

Thinking happy thoughts:
I have mixed feelings about this one too.  But, over all, I LOVE kraft and pink :-)

When she laughs:

This one is really old LOL ... but I LOVE that pic of Miss B.  I think this was when I was getting into the whole 'clustering' thing.

Take my breath away:
I don't really know why I like this page so much ... is it the colours?  A bit different for me, but I think they worked really well...???  Hmmm ... can't pinpoint anything exactly, I just like it .. LOL

A little shy:

Cosmo Cricket DeLovely ... sigh ... my fav ever range of pp's!!  So 'me' and so FUN to work with!!

Bubbler boy:
This one is REALLY old too LOL.  I actually really like the black die cut paper - weird hey!!  And, I had a loan of Mum's sewing machine so I actually sewed on this page!!!

So, there you have it.  I know 2010 isn't over yet, but not sure I'll fit in much more scrapping!!  I do have a few more pages to take photos of ... but it's raining again here.

What are your favourites for 2010??  Leave me a comment - I'd love to see them!!

Purple

Is there a colour you struggle to scrap with?  Anthea over at Scrapbook Savvy gave us all a friendly challenge to use PURPLE on a page.  Purple seems to be a colour a lot of people find difficult to use.  My biggest challenge was finding purple things in my stash!!  LOL.  This is what I came up with:

Play date:
Pink and purple - such a classic colour combo :-)

And a purple LilRed Rocket button ... how could I not use that?!?!  :-)
Have a great weekend!!

Boys and cars

The Kaisercraft Seaside range is not just for beachy pics!!  In fact, we don't get to the beach very often at all :-( so I had NO beachy photos at all to use with this range.  HOWEVER... it is perfect for little boy layouts ... the colours were a perfect match with the photos from our photoshoot with LaBelle Photographics not so long ago.

So, here is another page using my Kaisercraft Seaside DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne  ....

"Boys and cars"

It's just a boy thing!  LOL.  Here is a close up of the journaling tag (Kaiser Seaside), and an awesome LilRedRocket bottle top :-) :-)
Suzanne sent me some Homemade buttons as well :-)  I love buttons!!!
Hope you are all having a great week :-)

My little miracles

So this was the Get Picky photo inspiration this month:
I guess my interpretation is not very literal ...  I have taken some of the colours ... the navy, white and the yellow ... but mostly the word MIRACLES.
We have some precious little miracles given to us and I am so lucky to have them.  My children.

I have used my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne for this page:  Kaisercraft Seaside papers and journaling tags, a Homemade button, Kaiser alphas (both the large and small), Kaiser rhinestones ... and my favourite punch of the moment .... the doily punch!!!
I'll be back soon to share more projects with this fun Seaside range ... :-)

Here's another one I made:
I just LOVE my doily punch!!!!  I got mine here :-)
I will be back soon to share some pages using the Kaisercraft Seaside range ...

Some yummy tape (thanks again Leanne!!!) I think I need some more :-)

Savvy CC

It's all about Christmas at the Savvy CC this month and I managed to squeeze in 2 pages.  I wanted to wait until the sun came out to photograph the pages, but it doesn't look like that's happening any time soon!

So, this one was for Kerryn's challenge - to create a Christmas themed page using a Christmas song or the lyrics as the title. Then include some stars, circles and of course glitter!

Better not pout:

The first of the Christmas photo shoot photos to be scrapped!!!  (photo by LaBelle Photographics

I have put some kindy glitz on the chippy leaf :-)

This next page is for Sara's challenge - to use non-Christmas paper to scrap a Christmas photo ... I used Echo Park 'Walk in the Park' range ... just love that range!!  :-)

I even did some handstitching!!!! -------->
Don't ask me why!! LOL

Well, I'd better keep going ... lots to do as always :-)  hope everyone is having a great week!
