Stuck?!Sketches...

...have a new Creative Team member ... ME!!! Exciting news hey!! I actually kept saying I wouldn't apply, but I did and now I have a new position to test my creativity :-). I am on the team with some very talented girls...check out the announcement HERE.

So, moving along now ... this was the page I did for the application sketch. "Hush" - the pic is of Dallas in the baby swing. He just loves it and so do I because it puts him to sleep :-)
Just HAD to scrap this photo of our Chubby little Santa!!!
And this one is another photo by Linley - Bethany reading to the teddies. Too cute :-)

Bit overcast here today, what better weather for scrapping :-)

Savvy page

Well, hope everyone had a lovely Christmas? We have been busy spending time with family etc, but I did manage to squeeze in a page:

The title is: "Having a wail of a time" (hehe).
It was for Emma's 54321 challenge over at Savvy....
5 or more rhinestones/pearls
4 lines of doodling
3 pp's
2 journal spots
1 photo
Just gotta love that pic! The one at the end of a photo shoot - just had ENOUGH!!! LOL.

Last one?

I think this is the last Christmas card I'll make this year ...lol. (I keep saying that and then making more). Really love the non-traditional Christmas colours and the Rusty Pickle papers are just so gorgeous.
I am trying to get a page finished at the moment, but it has a mind of it's own and is being difficult. If and when I finish it, I'll post it up :-)

Hope everyone is having a great week and all ready for a fantastic Christmas day!!

Strawberry, chocolate and vanilla

Sound yummy? The theme for Inkurable Stampers this month was pink, brown and cream (or strawberry, chocolate and vanilla for the ice-cream lovers) - with, of course, at least one stamp. My grand idea was to make another shaker card, just because, well, I can't get enough of them really!! LOL!! I just needed an excuse to make another one!!

Here's what I came up with:
I have used the gorgeous Rusty Pickle papers and stamp. I have gone a little overboard on the strawberry part (oops) and the ric rac looks black in this photo, but I promise it IS actually brown.

That's it for now, hope everyone has a great day :-)

SUCH a cutie :-)

Here's a 'just because' page I put together quickly the other night. Yes, I DO do "just because" pages every now and again...lol!

Had fun with this actually :-) loving the very boyish papers and cars etc!

December Sketch

Just a quick post to share with you some December DT work at SOU. The sketch:
The card:
You can check out the other DT members pages and cards on the Scraps of Us blog. I have some more scrapping to share so stay tuned :-)

Bits and pieces

Thought I would squeeze a post in just so you know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth or anything! LOL! I have been busy the last couple of days and just haven't had a chance to update. Not that I have much to share either - I HAVE been scrapping, just nothing I can share yet ;-).

Anyway, here's a card I made with bits and pieces of Rusty Pickle and other extras from the lovely Tiff (thanks Tiff!!!)... it made a great male card.
I have got a stack of photos printed recently, so am itching to scrap them! Hope I find a few spare minutes here and there :-)

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Finally

I have finally got these completed and the last ones sent ------>
Just thought I'd be artistic and take a pic of a few of them to share :-). I had a lot of fun making them.

It's girl time!

I thought it was about time I did a girl page. LOL. So, here is a REALLY girly one! Pink, lace, flowers, butterflies, the whole works :-). Still love doing girl LO's :-)
It's for the December challenge over at What Is Old Is New. I fully intended to do their challenge last month, but didn't get there. Sometimes there just isn't enough days in the month!

Now, I'm trying to decide what to do next. Some more Christmas cards? An album for Bethany's birthday? More pages? Oh, I am just spoilt for choice :-) lol.

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Here it is...

Here's the page I was working on yesterday... I think it's finished. LOL. I used the 1st December sketch over at Stuck?!Sketches. I really liked the sketch and might use it again for a page of Bethany.
Dallas seems so little in this pic - I think he was around 8weeks old. He is now a chubby 7.67kg and 16weeks old tomorrow! Time sure flies.

Hope everyone is having a great week :-)

Scrapping the boy...

Guess what? ------>
I have done some layouts at last!! YAY!! Seems a while since I scapped a page. Been busy with Christmas cards, OTP and other bits and pieces. So anyway, this is a page I did for Out Of The Hat's December's challenge. Criteria:
spots/dots (in pp and on ribbon)
handcutting (I cut out the stars from pp)
rubons (the word "BOY" and the blue star)
I just love these sort of challenges. And I have wanted to scrap about having BLUE in our house! After such a girly girl, pinks and all the girly extras, it's been so much fun having blue things :-). We just love "our very own little boy blue" :-).
I am in the middle of another page of Dallas too - it's just in the "Hmmm... is this finished?" stage. LOL. Stay tuned and I'll share when I'm finished :-).

A spare 5 minutes...

I took a few minutes spare and made these:
and this:
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
Sorry so short and sweet, I am in the mood to scrap and I haven't done a layout for what feels like ages now!
Have a great weekend :-)

A little gift...

Well, my baby is over 3 months old and I am still giving out his Thank You gifts :-). (how slack am I!!??) I made these fridge magnets for his grandparents.
Don't you just love those pics of Dallas?? (Linley's pics again!!) They were taken back when he was nearly 2 weeks old. The one of him with his hands crossed is just so cute. Don't they just grow up soooo fast. We have had a family photo shoot with Linley recently, so watch out for some family pics scrapped!! lol :-)

Christmas Shaker

December rolled around rather quickly! What better way to begin my December posts than with a Christmas project I have been working on lately ...... Christmas shaker cards!! The first one pictured here is featured on Scraps Of Us and the step-by-step tutorial is going up on Saturday at 7pm if anyone is interested.
Then, I had to make another one since I was on a roll ... lol
They are easy and fun to make - check out the tutorial and see for yourself :-).
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to pop by here and for those who leave lovely comments too :-) much appreciated :-)

In my mailbox

Today, the postie brought me my latest Scrapbooking Memories mag .... and inside it is this:

Pretty cool or what?? My 2nd published layout :-). Now, I might go and put my feet up and read the rest of the mag ... LOL!!!

Not much else happening on the scrapping front at the moment, but am hoping to do some more very soon - maybe when I don't feel quite so tired! Oh for a good night's sleep!!!

Have a great week :-)

Today's project..

was this. Another tissue box.... quite like the colours of this one. Love those Kaisercraft chipboard butterflies too. They look cute with a little paint and bling :-).
This is the front ... close up of the said butterfly ...
Not much else from me at the moment - not that I can share anyway. Am working on "secret DT stuff" at the moment and will reveal next month sometime. LOL!

A double!!

Once upon a time I did heaps of doubles - on the impression that facing pages in my albums should be matching. Hahaha - got over that fairly quick :-). I don't do many doubles now, but here is one that I just HAD to do as a double and quite enjoyed it really! It's another beach one - old news I know, sorry.
Oh to have another one of those holidays *sigh*!!!

Then, I realised that I haven't shared this card before either so here you go :-). It was for a comp at SOU. It is actually using one piece of pp, carefully cutting out the different pieces and turning them over to use the reverse!! Can you tell?? lol!

Not much other scrapping happening ATM, but want to make some more Christmas cards so that's my next project along with some DT work. Fun!!! :-)

CUTE giveaway

How cute are these!!!??? Wouldn't they just look gorgeous on a layout?! The lovely Michelle is celebrating the opening of her new Etsy store Lil' Red Rocket and is hosting a giveaway on her blog!
Just love those little cars and of course, the colour of these ----> lol
Head on over for a look here

Happy Monday :-)

These Monday's seem to roll around pretty quick these days don't they! I managed to do a couple of challenges over the weekend so thought I'd share :-). Savvy had their CC on and I did this page for Sara's "Remember" challenge:

"Remember This Special Time:

The criteria was using the word "remember" somewhere on the page (mine's quite obvious ...lol!), minimum of 3 colours, and at least 4 lines of journalling. It's a bit of a different page for me (again) - don't do a lot of 'white space'!

This next LO is for the 123 challenge this month which was to use a Stuck?!Sketch (I used Nov002), a baby pic and a die cut. Double chance to win this month since it was using a Stuck?!Sketch as well. Two challenges in one - bonus!!

"Ten Tiny Toes" (using another of Linley's gorgeous pics):

That's it from me today.... til next time ... have a great week :-)

DT sketch

Every month the DT (at SOU) have to scrap a LO using a sketch. So, here is my take on this month's sketch.... it's up on the SOU blog as well as the other DT member's LO's - check them out here. I have used more pics from the photo shoot with Linley.

This was the fantastic sketch we used and it was designed by forum member LG Belarmino:

Well another scorcher here - what a heat wave! I am looking forward to the Cybercrop over at Savvy - it starts tonight. I'm sure there will be lots of inspiration and I could do with a little bit at the moment!!
Hope everyone has had a fantastic week and has a great weekend. Many thanks to those who leave lovely comments - you make my day :-)

A fun competition...

The lovely Tiff has a competition on her blog at the moment... the prize is a fabulous Rusty Pickle pack!! To enter, you have to make a LO, card or OTP project with Rusty Pickle products (or use some selected range names). How fun! I had some old Grinch-mas papers and matching stamp set, so thought it was time to do some more Christmas cards! I really liked this blue and red combo - just a bit different from the "traditional" Christmas colours.
I used all RP products except for the flowers and star rhinestones. Then, while I was "on a roll".... I made these:
They are all made with the same double-sided piece of paper ... with a few extra bits and pieces from my stash. (There is some RP stickers there too if you look hard enough ..lol!)
Well, I guess I should work out just how many more cards I need to make! (Before I get too carried away and make too many ...hahaha!!)

Scrap the Girls!

I missed the Scrap the Girls challenge last month (can't remember what happened now), so really wanted to get this month's done. It was a colour combination challenge this time: blue, red, white and orange. Very fresh and summery! This is what I came up with:
In case you can't read it, the journalling says "Friendship is.... wearing matching T-shirts!" LOL! These girls are just soooo cute together!

Hope everyone is having a great week and managing to stay cool, am so glad for air-conditioning here!

PS. I've just realised how well this LO matches my blog! hehehe!!

Some Fun...

Check this out at Scraps of Us ... it looks like it will be heaps of fun!
Basically, those that play will design a sketch at the start of each week in December and it gets given to someone else to create a LO with! It is a non-elimination competition and there is a big prize pool!!

No scrapping to share today - we had a very busy weekend and didn't manage to squeeze scrapping in at all! Hope to catch up this week :-)

Little Miss B

This is the LO I started yesterday. It's a bit different for me, don't you think? I used the Sketch of the Week over at Scraps of Us - I just loved it - not very often I instantly love a sketch!
The pic of "Little Miss B" is another of Linley's and is such a typical cheeky giggly look of Bethany's. I love it :-). I thought these Heidi Grace papers just went so well with the colours of her hat too.

Well, it's Friday again so hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Many thanks to all those who leave comments here - much appreciated :-). Oh by the way, you might have to look out for ANOTHER LO of mine being published!! Will update when I know which issue etc :-)

Scrappy Day

I've had a scrap day today - was SOOO nice just to sit down and chat and scrap :-). Here is one LO I completed, and I have one still in the process!

This is for a fab site I have just discovered called Out Of The Hat Scrap Challenge. The three criteria this month were: A tree, 3 pics of different sizes and die-cut paper. Really disappointed in how the pic of this LO turned out - it looks better in real life, trust me!! LOL! The colours here are just wrong but can't seem to make it any better?!?!

Loving these photos of Linley's - the one of Dallas with the little frown on his face would have to be one of my all time favourites!

Hard to believe, but he's 12 weeks old now. Where has the time gone! I had him weighed on Wednesday and he is 6.83kg - a real little chubba :-) and oh so cute :-). Well, of course his mummy would think so ...LOL.

Hope everyone is having a lovely week...

Capture...

Finally feel like scrapping again and have done a few pages. Here's one I can share with you:
This was for Emma's 54321 challange over at Savvy. The criteria was:
5 circles (not including brads/eyelets)
4 pp's (not including circles)
3 brads/eyelets
2 photos
1 handmade item (flower)
I quite like these kinds of challenges - and now Emma will have one every month - yay!!
Have also been working on DT things - stay tuned and I'll reveal at a later date :-). Hope everyone is having a great week. I'm off to see what else I can create. Oh, after I hang out some washing ... :-)

November challenge

Just thought I would share with you my challenge for November over at SOU. Since Christmas is so close, I thought I would challenge everyone to make a Christmas card with at least one stamp on it. Here is my example:
And that reminds me that I do have to get working on the Christmas card list - time will get away for sure. Seems to fly at this time of the year more than any - or maybe that's just my perception?

Happy card making everyone .... lol :-)

Yellow embellies

I am not a big fan of yellow, but check out these embellies I received in the mail yesterday from the 'yellow embellishment' swap over at Savvy! They are very cute!
Now, I just have to find somewhere to use them all :-).... lol

Well, my challenge for November is up on Scraps Of Us ... will be back later to post it here as well. For now, I'm off to find something to eat ... I think I have a bit of my appetite back so maybe that's a good sign!

Weekend scrap pics

Bit of an average weekend here, with all of us sick, but before all that happened, I did manage to get some scrapping done! These are from the cybercrop at SOU. "Yawn" is for Sam's challenge which was to use 3 photos, a rubon and scraps of pp's. (I did add the buttons and Heidi Swapp sticker later cos I just couldn't help it!! lol)
These two cards were for my challenge, which was to use items found in the kitchen! For this first card, I have used a paddle pop stick, patty cake paper, alfoil and cut a flower out of a paper napkin.
For this next one, I used a silver paper doily as the background and stamped circles with carrots to make the flowers. I did use small amounts of other supplies from my stash also - as you can see.
Hope everyone has a great week!

A little friend

I just felt like scrapping the other day (lol)... so I did this ...
Have had that pic of Bethany and her gorgeous little friend Nikara for a while and never quite knew what to do with it until I got the scalloped paper and also the felt shapes. Love them! Seems a bit of a mix of colours, but I think they work quite well. It has a kind of 'fresh, springy' feel. :-) {thanks to Nikara's lovely Mummy for letting me post the pic :-) }

The cybercrop over at Scraps Of Us is on this weekend so have been doing some projects for that. My challenge goes up this afternoon and I can't wait to see what everyone does with it! Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Guess What?!?!

I made the team!! Yes, I am now a Design Team member (on the card team) for Scraps Of Us which is hugely exciting for me :-). Am looking forward to learning how to be a DT member (lol) and having fun along the way. Thanks heaps for everyone's encouragement!!

Now, they have thrown us all in the deep end (but in a good way!) straight away as we have to come up with challenges and games for this:
It should be heaps of fun ... my first Cybercrop as a member of a Design Team! It's rather different designing challenges and not doing someone elses! But, I am looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Well, I had better keep going, I'm hoping to get lots of washing done today :-)!!

Round 3

OK, here is my entries for the third and final round of the DT comp. This was a VERY interesting challenge ... we had to make a LO for $5 and a card for $3! It was tricky trying to work out how much each thing cost! Here is my LO: A gorgeous pic of Dallas - one of my favourites from Linley's photoshoot. The title is "Almost 2 weeks old" (just in case you can't read it - lol!)
Here's the card. For some funny reason, I liked matching the cards to the LO's!!
And that's it, now we just wait for the announcement to be made! It was certainly an interesting comp and I scrapped a pic of myself for the first time!
I have managed a page today. Will share maybe tomorrow :-)

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Round 2

Here is my entries for round two of the DT comp. The criteria was to scrap a LO of an achievement in our life and use a particular technique. The card had to congratulate someone on an achievement and use a technique also. We then had to write a step-by-step instuctions for the technique we chose to do. I debated a while about the technique and tossed up on a few! Finally decided to make a strip flower. I made these out of book paper to suit the theme of my page .... which was a pic of me "Finally" graduating from uni!! How young do I look!!! lol...
And here's the card ... I made a strip flower for this as well.
Will share Round 3 here tomorrow - got to draw out the process ...lol!!!
Went and got Dallas weighed today - he's 6.2kg! The nurse was like, "Wow, how old is this baby?? Did you say 10weeks??" lol! I am not surprised, I'm the one who carries him around all day (OK, slight exaggeration there ...lol) and know how sore my arms/shoulders/neck get!!!

Well, I'm off to see if I can squeeze in some scrapping before the kids wake up from their sleeps. Thanks to everyone who pops by and especially for the lovely comments. Hope everyone is having a lovely day :-)

Quick post

Just a quick post from me today. ----->

Just wanted to share this LO I did for a Design team comp! It was for the first round and we had to scrap a LO of ourselves .... but use no photos!! What a challenge!! So, the journalling I did here in the little boxes is about me. You probably can't read it tho...LOL!!!
Be back with some more maybe tomorrow :-)
