My girl

It's been nearly a week since my last post, although I am sure you haven't missed me :-).
I've had issues with Blogger.  I've been busy with life and family and a surprise party :-).  (I have the best friends :-) )
I haven't even had much to share!  I did every challenge I could get my hands on last month .... and maybe ... I was all challenged out this month!  Is there such a thing??  LOL  However, I have been able to squeeze in two this last weekend :-)

First up, my page for Scrap the Girls.  The challenge this month:  Scrap a layout based on an important female in your life. Extra criteria: more than 20 words of handwritten journaling

This girl:

I have used Echo Park Be Mine :-) it's an older range, but I have just got my hands on it.  {Thanks to Peta at Scrapbooking from Scratch :-) } I ADORE pink :-).  Talking about pink ... the sweet little pink cabochon is from Clouds and More :-)
Thanks for visiting!  I'm off to see if Blogger will be nice enough to let me leave some comments today :-)

Life/Live/Living

And this time, I actually used the sketch :-)

Art of Living:
Using super yummy Echo Park Summer Days :-)

The lace flower is a Pretty Paper Petals one - gorgeous hey :-)
And see the cabochon ... it's from one of my FAV etsy stores :-) HERE :-)

I found this quote ... I liked it ...
We are getting some fabulous entries to our BITW challenges - it's getting more and more difficult to choose winners!!!  Hope you'll play along with this one too :-)

Scraptivations challenge

Another challenge is up at Scraptivations!  Your challenge is to create a layout with a picture of something that is inanimate. There are plenty of important things in our lives that aren't alive, so it's important to get them scrapped too! When you're searching for pics, you can certainly use one that has people in it, but the layout itself needs to be about that inanimate object. Head over to the BLOG and see the DT samples to see what we mean .....

Anyway, here's my sample ... the story behind "The tennis teddy"

You will see a Pretty Paper Petals flower tucked in there :-)
Would love to see you play along :-)
Have a great week!
Thanks for visiting!

Merry-go-round

You know those rides at the shops ... that cost a ridiculous amount of money ... go around and around for five minutes ... and then stop ... leaving the kids to plead and stomp their feet for another ride???

You know the ones??

Yes, well, I have always told my children they are broken.  I am quite prepared to test this when the time comes and they question this statement.  I will produce a coin (5c), place it in the slot and .... wait for it .... oh look, the ride must be broken, it doesn't work!!  LOL ... I have it all planned :-)

ANYWAY ... my poor deprived children are soooo lucky they have a generous Nana to treat them to things like this.

See the grins - from ear to ear :-)

Using more Crate Paper Neighbourhood ... are you sick of it yet??!  LOL  I just adore this little key :-)

Hope you are having a great week :-)

Special visits from special people

We love getting visitors!  The kids get so excited and I know they wish 'someone special' could visit every single day :-) ...

A special visit:

Using more Crate Paper Neighbourhood range - it's been so fun, I'm sad to see my kit dwindling.  I even got inventive and made a flower of sorts using my scalloped circle punch ...

More Websters netting to make the bow ... (which has been soooo popular in the store, that it's all sold out!  See more gorgeous Webster's trims HERE)

Don't forget to check out all the new products in the store!!!  Lots of lovely lovely lovely things :-)

Thanks for visiting and for taking the time to comment :-) I appreciate it so much :-)

More Crate Paper Neighbourhood from Handmade by Suzanne ... I am just loving it!  I think I've done 6 pages so far ... with still a bit left over ... which I'm sure will find it's way onto a card or two yet ;-)

Always Storytime:

Just love this little house ...

Oh how my kids love stories!!  They are little bookworms and I love it!  Mind you, I think the grandparents enjoy story time just as much ;-)

The post that Blogger ate ...

Yep - I was one of the unfortunate ones who had a post and comments eaten by Blogger!  So, sorry to confuse you all :-( and sorry I lost your lovely comments :-(

So, while I can't remember exactly what I wrote ... this is the page I posted about.  It was my post day at Lil Red Rocket, so head over there for more info :-).  Anyway, this page was actually from last month .... using the sketch from Scrapbook Savvy ...

And my take using a Savvy kit I won a couple of months ago!!  Yay :-)

Plus, bits and pieces from my stash ... like this awesome Lil' Red Rocket button :-)

Love how those spotty buttons go with any page :-).

I will be back soon to catch up :-) thanks for visiting!!

Nature's playground

What I have loved most about Crate Paper Neighbourhood range is, it's SO versatile!  I have this little routine when I get my new DT kit from Suzanne, I go through stacks of photos and put all the ones I think will 'match' in with the kit.  This time, with CP Neighbourhood, it seemed every second photo went 'perfectly'!!!  I did intend to use camping photos from Easter time, but I still haven't got any printed ... LOL

Anyway, here I've used a beach photo from earlier in the year:

Nature's playground:

Lots of yummy things from the store ... the twine, the sew brad, bling, stickers, pom pom trim.   You'll also spot a yellow tissue paper flower from Pretty Paper Petals (please note, the PPP store is closed at the moment - but will be back soon!!!!!!)

I added this see saw chipboard shape from the layered chipboard pack - I just thought it was cute along with the title :-) :-).  The letter stickers in "nature's" are from the Neighbourhood range - I just love how there are different colours and sizes on that alpha sheet!!!  It even comes with word stickers too - and check it out, the whole sheet is only $4.95!!!

I've heard lots of complaints about Blogger lately, and while I am lucky enough to be able to post with no dramas (so far anyway!!), I am annoyed that Blogger has lost all the blogs I am following.  I can't see them in reader anymore.  It just says, quite helpfully, "you are not following any blogs".    So, please forgive me if I miss your recent posts, I HOPE like mad you will all appear again SOON!!!   Has this happened to anyone else??

Thanks for visiting :-)

The tale of the little yellow chicken

The kids are lucky enough to have Grandparents who live on a farm.  They get to see lots of interesting animals - and recently, they got the meet the new batch of chickens.  So cute and fluffy!!

The Crate Paper Neighbourhood range (in my DT kit this month from Handmade by Suzanne) was perfect for these pics - there was even a "tweet" sticker!!

LOVE this netting - which is a Websters product and comes in a pack with other colours too.  I added it to this page as a reminder of the soft fluffy feathers of the chicken :-)

A ribbon circle and bow this time ...

And just in case you were wondering, no we didn't keep it :-)

Sunshiney day

Well, I'm not sure that 'sunshiney' is really a word ... but what IS a word is SUN / SUNSHINE ...  and it's the new word up at Bird is the Word :-).

I debated lots of projects, and in the end, made this shaker card.  Cos they are so fun :-)  Except I think this one needed more glitter.  I always put in too much or not enough.  Oh for the 'happy medium' ...LOL
I've used Echo Park Summer Days ... the paper, the journal spot and the alphas.  This little tree is from the Garden Party Polymer set from Pretty Paper Petals :-) isn't it sweet :-)
Hope you'll play along!  We are getting lots of stunning entries for our words and it's great to see so many people enjoying the challenge!  Check out the other DT's examples for Sun / Sunshine HERE

Have a great week!  Thanks for visiting and for your lovely comments :-)

Funny hugs

This is the May sketch over at Handmade by Suzanne:
And once I received my DT kit, full of Crate Paper Neighbourhood collection - I had fun creating this.
Funny hugs:

I really love Crate Paper's layered chipboard embellishments - this felt lollipop style embellie is one.

The alpas are CP Neighbourhood too - love how there are a few sizes and colours on the one sheet!

Notice the yellow bow?  It's Webster's netting from this pack.  Super sweet hey!!!

Hope you'll play along this month - there is a fantastic $30 voucher - plus free postage up for grabs!!

Happy summer days

The 4th challenge is up over at Scraptivations!  This time, Amy has challenged us all to create our own embellishment. Then, once you have made your embellishment, add it to a page, card or altered item.  I made this little tree out of felt ... there is even some stitching!!

And added it to this page...
Happy summer days:
Using lots of yummy bright and happy Summer Days by Echo Park.

Here's my tree:
And the yellow flower is a Pretty Paper Petals  one ... with a cabochon in the middle ... from HERE
Hope you can play along!  You have until June 5th :-)
