Inspired Blueprints Sketch #82

Hello everyone!  Did you know Inspired Blueprints posts a new sketch every Friday?  That's a new sketch for inspiration every week!!  I really had fun with this one:

I used a smaller photo and moved the sketch up to the top of the page.

She feels like she has to wait forever for her birthday.  Her brother's birthday is a month before hers ... and it's a long month!!  LOL

There's a little chevron badge hiding in there from Greatest View :-) ... love these!!

Don't forget to pop over to the blog and see the other DT members fabulous takes on the sketch!!  Love how there's so many different looks from the one sketch :-).

PS.  did you see the news over on the Rainbow Splendour blog??  :-) :-)

The first Inspired Blueprints sketch!

Inspired Blueprints is back!!  I think I've mentioned this before, but I am so excited to be on the team :-) ;-)
Anyway, here's the first sketch:

And my take on the sketch:

The candles are chipboard ... and I coloured them with some gel pens.  I was surprised how well they turned out!  I don't think I've ever tried plain ol' gen pens on chipboard before.

You'll see some mini doilies from Greatest View - just love these!!  You might also notice some pink Rainbow Splendour lace flowers :-)

Such a purple page ... I don't often scrap with purple, but this means I have heaps of purple embellies in my stash, left over from packs of mixed embellies.  I decided it was time I used some of them!  Keep watching for another purple page coming up soon :-) :-)

Thanks for visiting!  Make sure you head over to the Inspired Blueprints blog to see the other DT girls pages from the sketch ... awesome!

Afternoon stroll

Welcome to the next chapter in my scrappy lesson at Christmas time!
This time, I was inspired by one of Melinda's pages and decided to do a bit of a scrap lift.  Even though it looks totally different :-).

{Photo by LaBelle Photographics}

Testing out my distressing skills :D ... love the effect of the deep purple background.

Playing with texture paste again - so much fun! :-)

Totally loving trying a new style :-).  I have one more page to show you and I'll do that soon, I promise :-) :-)

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great week :-)

Sweet sweet summer

Remember my scrappy lesson at Christmas time?  Well, this was my first attempt at trying it at home.  Promise me you won't laugh!!  ;-)  I don't have the range of products available to me, so I had to improvise just a little...

I've created this for the current Scrap The Boys challenge:
This month the challenge is to scrap a layout featuring your son's favourite holiday/summer activity and use that to inspire your layout!

I've used texture paste over a mask, painted over the top with glimmermist, but I think I used a bit much :S ... anyway, live and learn ;-)

See, there's a Rainbow Splendour big red felt flower there too!!

and just a 'few' sequins :-)

Thanks for visiting!!  I'll share my other pages from Christmas time soon, I promise :D

Introducing me :-)

I've been introduced on the Inspired Blueprints blog today :-).  A little question and answer session ... pop over and check it out.  BTW ... do you know just how difficult it is to describe one's scrappy style in 5 words??

Anyway, I created a page from this cool sketch 31:

I have flipped some of the elements to suit my photos (and papers LOL), and swapped out the one 6x4 photo for two 3x4 instead.

Happiness is ... a warm puppy :-)
Photos are from our puppy photo shoot by LaBelle Photographics ... I'm sure you'll be seeing many more of these to come ;-)

Don't forget to check out the Inspired Blueprints blog every day for more DT introductions!  There is a fabulous line-up of talented scrappers :-)

That's all for now.  Thanks for visiting :-)

A bit messy ...

So, the story goes like this:
At Christmas time, we spent some time with my brother and his family.  It was a special time.  We loved it!  Did I mention that my sister-in-law is the very lovely Melinda??  And for a while now, she's been promising to teach me some of her 'messy' style of scrapping :-) :-).  I was soooo looking forward to it!!

And ...

it really was sooo much fun :-).  Seriously!!  I have a new love:  texture paste :-)

Check out the first page I created with {lots of} help from Melinda:

{photo from our awesome puppy photo shoot with LaBelle Photographics}

It was my first time playing with texture paste ... such a fun effect!

And certainly the first time I'd ever done that much distressing!! LOL
I was still able to stick to my 'usual' clustering and a bit of white space :-).  And I just love the sequins.  A must have for me, now! ;-) ...

I created a total of 3 pages while on holidays!  I can't wait to share the rest with you :-).  What do you think?  Have you tried something different from your 'usual' style?

Thanks for visiting, have a great weekend :-)
