SMASH*ing at Savvy

When Sar at Scrapbook Savvy suggested we try some SMASH* books and embellishments this month, I jumped at the chance to see what this latest craze was all about. I couldn't WAIT to see it all in real life. And let me tell you, the SMASHfolios are gorgeous. They have lovely embossed chipboard covers and are filled with 40 pages of nice thick paper with fun pics and patterns. I received the Pretty Pink SMASHfolio to play with and it's right up my alley ;-).



Each SMASHfolio comes with it's own pen/glue all in one. Awesome! Sar gave us bits and pieces of a lot of the embellie packs ... check them all out HERE (and don't forget ... there's 20% OFF STOREWIDE UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT SO BE QUICK!!)

So, here's some of the pages I've SMASH*ed in my new pretty pink SMASHfolio ...

My "vision" for this SMASH book is a place to record all those little everyday things ... to use those photos that aren't the best - you know the ones, they are too dark, too blurry or just plain not perfect, but they still have a story to tell. That's what I'm putting in here ... a little taste of our family's 2013 ...

Quote challenge for Savvy CC

Hello everyone!   It's time for another FABULOUS Savvy CC!!!   Who's excited?? So many fun challenges and SALES will make a FUN weekend!!

Anyway, here is my challenge. Take one (or more) quote/s from this picture to inspire a page. Use it as your title, or in your journaling, anywhere on the page, really! It's totally up to you :-). There's plenty to chose from and I'm hoping there's something to suit everyone :-)



I took the quote at the very top and created this page of my 2 kids:



And a close-up of the gorgeous Prima flowers (NEW Prima available in the Savvy Store) and the twine is from the store too - such fantastic value!!! I love twine.

We will release FOUR new cybercrop challenges on the Friday night, and a Blind Scrap over the course of the weekend. Our CC goes for nearly a week with deadline being midnight Thursday 30 May, giving you plenty of time to get your layouts done...and get you in the running for some Savvy spending money plus RANDOM PRIZES along the way!

Over the course of the weekend Savvy will have TEN MASSIVE SPOT SALES! These will be items Sar announces over the weekend at a massive discount to you, available at the sale price for a limited time only. Orders CAN be combined over various sales during the weekend, and you will still be eligible for flat rate post of $7.50 as per our normal store conditions.

Inspired Blueprints #94

So, after a little break, Inspired Blueprints is back again!  Last week we had sketch #93  {Check out Sketch #93 here}.  And now it's time for Sketch #94.  Hope you can play along!  Upload your pages into the IB Gallery.  And don't forget to check out the blog to see how the other DT members in this reveal team tackled this one!!

This was a fun one to play with ...  different style of page with the broken journaling in strips, the big photo and the border strip to balance down the side.

Love the scattered embellies ... but of course, I had to put a couple of clusteres in too.  Just because it's what I do :D.

Oh, and see those awesome FEATHERS by Aga at {scrAp this} !!  Love them!!  And there's a Rainbow Splendour rose too ... in cream ... from this pack:

Keeping it simple

I thought I'd try the Sassy Scrapper's sketch for this month.

Alright, I can hear you saying ... a multi-photo sketch??  And a massive FIVE photos at that??  LOL ... yeah!  Well.  I knew I wouldn't be able to twist my page around to fit in this many, but I did still like the sketch and I had this story I wanted to record.  So, I settled with 2 photos and threw some extra journaling spots in instead :-).  Kept it really simple in fact.

{yes, that is a FWAB tree on it's side ... I thought it looked pretty cool as a branch ;-) }

And an awesome Greatest View badge :-).  Love them!!

The story is about my heart breaking when my kids are sick.  This particular time, the Little Mister went downhill so fast it was scary.  Lucky our Doctor keeps emergency appointments free every day - we have used them more times than I can count.
